Here we come again to our next independence day – this 15 August we are celebrating our 72nd independent day which was hard-earned by our soldiers and those who saliently fought for our nation. Maybe we can go to the history and the significance of our independence day before I get to what I really want to say in this short blog….
The story of India’s colonisation began with the arrival of the East India Company in our country in the 1600s. These merchants who came to trade in India soon started monitoring the military and administrative control. Gradually by 1757, they had established their foothold in many parts of the country. This unfair rule went on spreading the resentment among the countrymen and the local population. This is when the revolt took place against the British rule in 1857.
Thousands of soldiers and civilians were affected; there was bloodshed and many incidences which are not documented as well. Still moving ahead with these tragic incidences we attained freedom on 15th August 1947.
But what all has changed since and what we actually have comprehended from our freedom. Are we doing justice to all or to ourselves we also don’t know? I’m not going on the political or social cultural or any other stigma in particular here – this blog is just to remember those martyrs and soldiers who are the real heroes.

On August 15th, 1947, the great nation of India opened a new chapter in its history – an era of freedom, struggles and progress. This could happen only due to the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
Let us pay our homage to all the sung and unsung heroes who made it possible..!! Take pride in seeing the Tricolour fluttering high in the sky and be proud to be an INDIAN!
